NBC politicizes the pandemic to get Rudy Giuliani

The only thing worse than a deadly pandemic is a deadly pandemic that is also politicized.

NBC News published an absurd hit piece this week on former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, implying that he may have infected more than two dozen members of Michigan’s state legislature with the virus.
`
“After Giuliani visit, Michigan House says nearly 30 have tested positive for COVID this year,” reads the NBC headline.

The attempt to blame Giuliani, President Trump’s personal lawyer, for the infections is obvious. It is also much, much worse than even the headline suggests.

To any literate person, NBC’s news hook seems clear. Giuliani, who himself tested positive for coronavirus this weekend, may or may not have infected up to 30 members of Michigan’s legislature during his visit to the state last week. This allegation, on its face, seems a bit of a reach. It’s as if to say that Giuliani single-handedly caused a super-spreader event. But just wait until you read the actual NBC report.

The article’s opening lines read, “Almost 30 staffers and members of Michigan’s House of Representatives have contracted the coronavirus this year, the speaker’s office said Wednesday — a week after Rudy Giuliani testified maskless in the chamber and three days after it was announced that he had tested positive for Covid-19.”

Did you catch that? It’s not that 30 members tested positive for the virus after Giuliani’s visit, as the headline clearly suggests. It’s that Michigan officials announced after Giuliani’s visit that 30 members have tested positive so far this year.

In other words, the two events are not connected, though NBC tries very hard to suggest that they are. Just incredible, breathtakingly dishonest political activism from the peacock network.

“About eight representatives and 21 staffers have reported testing positive so far,” NBC reports, citing Gideon D’Assandro, communications director and press secretary for Michigan’s House speaker. “D’Assandro would not detail the timing of the infections, and it was unclear if any of the positive cases came after Giuliani’s visit.”

It was unclear? Then why even mention Giuliani?

“The chamber reported the numbers a week after Rudy Giuliani testified in Lansing and just days after he tested positive for Covid-19,” the NBC report adds.

Reporter-activists have infested American journalism, and these people have been pulling this type of nonsense all year since they finally started taking the pandemic seriously, looking for ways to blame Republicans and their allies for infections and mortality rates. When Democrats catch coronavirus; they are victims, when Republicans catch it, it is their fault. Mask-shaming, selective outrage over pandemic protocols, you name it.

It doesn’t matter how dishonest or far-fetched the attack. So long as there is an anti-GOP angle to a COVID-19 story, they’ll take it.

MSNBC correspondent Mike Memoli wasn’t kidding when he called the pandemic a “gift” to the Democratic Party. The Left and its allies in the press have been milking this thing for everything it’s worth, even to the point where Giuliani is being blamed for infections which, for all we know, took place in Michigan long before he visited.
