Despite a request from the GOP front-runner, Hillary Clinton will not to apologize to Donald Trump for saying that the Islamic State uses videos of his speeches to help recruit new terrorists.
“Hell no. Hillary Clinton will not be apologizing to Donald Trump for correctly pointing out how his hateful rhetoric only helps ISIS recruit more terrorists,” Clinton press secretary Brian Fallon said in a statement.
During the third Democratic debate on Saturday night, the former secretary of state accused Trump of being “ISIS’s best recruiter” claiming that, “They are going to people showing videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical jihadists.”
On Monday, Trump demanded an apology on Twitter. He added that, “It’s the Democrats’ total weakness & incompetence that gave rise to ISIS — not a tape of Donald Trump that was an admitted Hillary lie!”
While fact checkers have proven that Trump is not known to play a role in ISIS recruitment, a Monday report suggested that his campaign has indirectly helped racist groups recruit.
