Take Five: This weekend’s best for fun

Congratulations, Washingtonians. You’ve made it through the winter, and the first weekend of spring is upon us. Time to get out of the house and out on the town. Let The Examiner point you in the best direction for fun this weekend.

Friday: Junior League Band at the Rock and Roll Hotel

If you haven’t enjoyed the bluegrass songs from local act Junior League, you’re missing out. Led by the darling Lissy Rosemont, JL offers string-heavy — fiddle and banjo included — high-energy tunes. With the David Wax Museum and Lightfoot. 8 p.m. doors, 9 p.m. show. $10 in advance, $12 day of.

There’s an upstairs, too: On the second level, DJ Doc Rok is spinning from 9:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Free.
