A Democratic senator said she thinks former Missouri Rep. Todd Akin would be the “perfect vice president for Donald Trump” on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
“At least he learned how to apologize, he’s got political experience,” Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., said sarcastically. She kept her senatorial seat in 2012 after the Republican election challenger’s controversial “legitimate rape” comments.
“Oh, you are very naughty,” co-host Mika Brzezinski said in response to McCaskill’s comments. “You’re just a bad person,” Joe Scarborough added between chuckles.
In her 2015 memoir, McCaskill wrote she spent $1.7 million campaigning for Todd Akin in the Senate primary “so that in the general election I would face the candidate I was most likely to beat.”
