President Trump pledged to eliminate the transnational criminal cartel MS-13 that has its roots in Los Angeles.
“We’re going to destroy the vile criminal cartel, MS-13, and many other gangs,” Trump said during remarks on MS-13 in New York to law enforcement. “But MS-13 is particularly violent. They don’t like shooting people because it’s too quick. It’s too fast.”
He continued, “I was reading one of these animals was caught and explaining they like to knife ’em and cut ’em and let ’em die slowly because that way it’s more painful. They enjoy watching that much more. These are animals.”
Trump’s visit to New York comes amid a violent outbreak on Long Island linked to the MS-13 gang. Trump told the crowd that he instructed law enforcement not to show too much concern for the comfort of the MS-13 gang members they apprehend.
“We’re getting ’em out anyway, but would like to get ’em out a lot faster,” Trump said. “And when you see these thugs being thrown into the back of a paddy wagon, you just see ’em thrown in. Rough. I said, ‘Please don’t be too nice.’ Like when you guys put somebody in the car and you’re protecting their head…like don’t hit their head and they’ve just killed somebody. Don’t hit their head. I said, ‘You can take the hand away, OK?'”
