A former Pentagon security officer has been sentenced to eight years and one month in prison for downloading and distributing child pornography.
Martin C. Savage, 27, was working at the Pentagon when an undercover police officer in Florida found 100 sexually explicit images he was sharing on a peer-to-peer network in March 2010, according to court records. Many of those were photographs and videos of infants and toddlers, federal prosecutors in Maryland said.
A search warrant was executed at his Landover home the next month, and authorities seized a hard drive that contained more than 100 images involving sadomasochism and bonding, according to prosecutors.
Court records say Savage admitted to investigators that he had been downloading child pornography for about three years and shared the images online.
