Children from the Bloomingdale neighborhood in Northwest Washington will get the playground of their dreams, thanks to the Washington Capitals, Capitals defenseman Mike Green, DC101 DJ Elliot Segal and KaBOOM!, a national nonprofit dedicated to saving play. Children will draw their dream playgrounds and designers will incorporate elements from their pictures into a final design of the playground, to be built Sept. 15. It will provide a safe place for more than 600 children to play. — Betsy Woodruff
