Twitter lit up Wednesday afternoon in response to photos of Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and his wife posing with a sheet of new $1 bills that now feature his signature.
Mnuchin’s wife Louise Linton faced backlash in August after she aggressively responded to criticism for flaunting her expensive designer wardrobe by touting her husband’s sacrifice for the nation and calling a follower “adorably out of touch.”
Both Mnuchin and U.S. Treasurer Jovita Carranza’s signatures are now on the $1 bill. The new prints are set to be shipped to regional Federal Reserve banks around the country and be in circulation by December.
