$70.7 million: Amount made in theaters by “Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax” this past weekend, making it the best opening for a film so far in 2012, easily surpassing “The Vow” ($41.2 million). It was also the strongest opening for a Dr. Seuss adapation, beating out “How The Grinch Stole Christmas.” “Project X” and “Act of Valor” rounded out the rest of the top three.
