Enoch Pratt Free Library Executive Director Carla D. Hayden and chairwoman of the Board of Trustees Sandra P. Gohn announced the library has received an anonymous $1 million donation. The donation, which will be put to use at each of the library?s 21 branches will “allow the Pratt to fulfill initiatives outlined in the library?s strategic plans for facilities and services,” Hayden said in a news release.
“These projects may include new spaces for children and youth, exterior and interior lighting to create a more welcoming environment, landscaping and new signage,” Hayden said.
This marks the third $1 million donation to the library since 2001, including a previous $1 million donation from Eddie and Sylvia Brown for the African American Department and another anonymous donation of the same amount in 2003, according to the release.
The Enoch Pratt Free Library system?s mission is to provide equal access to information and services for everyone.
