NEWPORT, NH — Jon Huntsman said on Thursday that the Boston Globe’s endorsement of him for president was “pretty awesome.”
Earlier this evening liberal newspaper wrote in an editorial that the former Utah goveronor and ambassador to China “would be the best candidate to seize this moment in GOP history, and the best-prepared to be president.”

Though the endorsement isn’t likely to endear Huntsman to conservatives, it may provide a boost among independent voters, who can vote in New Hampshire’s primary next Tuesday.
“I think it’s pretty awesome,” Huntsman said of the endorsement, speaking to reporters after a town hall meeting here. “We’ll take any endorsement we can get at this point. We have Republicans who show up at our events, we have independents who show up at our events. We even have Democrats who show up at our events. And I say, I’m grateful for all of them. Because we need all of them to win.”
