'I just drooled on myself': Tucker Carlson left in stitches as Mark Steyn riffs on Biden flubs

Conservative commentator Mark Steyn reduced Fox News host Tucker Carlson to fits of laughter as he offered his take on Joe Biden’s latest display of confusion on the campaign trail.

Following a roundup of Biden’s most recent flubs, Carlson addressed the Thursday report from the Washington Post that debunked his story about pinning a Silver Star on a Navy captain in Afghanistan. Offering his “word as a Biden” to back up the story, the former vice president nevertheless “got the time period, the location, the heroic act, the type of medal, the military branch and the rank of the recipient wrong, as well as his own role in the ceremony,” according to the Post.

Carlson turned to Steyn, who maintained that the fictitious story was, in fact, Biden at his best. “To be fair, Tucker, this is the old Biden back,” he said. “The recent Biden of this campaign, the stumbling, bumbling, mumbling guy who can’t remember the name of Barack Obama, that’s an embarrassment. He stumbles, he trips on three-syllable words like ‘Democrat.'”

“But this is classic Biden,” Steyn went on. “This is Biden at top form, where he does this vivid, coherent, brilliant narrative, in which not a single detail is correct.”

Steyn then delivered a facetious monologue, pretending to be Biden as he recounted taking fire while president on D-Day, among other fake adventures. “This was classic Joe Biden. He’s back! His mojo has returned! His mojo knows what state it’s in.”

A giggling Carlson said, “I just drooled on myself,” and congratulated Steyn on his performance. “That was unbelievable. I would vote for you for president after that, I just want to be completely honest.” Carlson then noted that the difference between Steyn and Biden is that Steyn’s absurd stories were told on purpose.
