Alec Baldwin to Kathy Griffin: ‘Baby I’ve been there’

Baldwin called on comedian Kathy Griffin to ignore President Trump’s criticism of a photo she took holding up a decapitated head of the president.

Baldwin, who has impersonated Trump on “Saturday Night Live,” tweeted that no one believed Griffin meant to threaten Trump when she held up a decapitated head during a recent photo shoot.

“Trump is such a senile idiot, all he has is Twitter fights,” Baldwin tweeted.

Baldwin then evoked his own 1998 rant on Conan O’Brien’s show about calling for the stoning of former Republican lawmaker Henry Hyde to death. Baldwin’s comments were how Hyde and other lawmakers were voting to impeach former President Bill Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

“The whole Henry Hyde thing w Conan, where we bring out an oxygen mask at the end?” Baldwin tweeted. “A joke. That’s what I thought. That’s what I intended. No one walked out of the studio and said, “No! We’re serious.”

Baldwin then tweeted that all “your gutless, weasels in the GOP insisted that I actually threatened Hyde. They played the victim beautifully.”

Baldwin said in 1998 that if “we were in other countries, we would all right now, all of us together would go down to Washington and we would stone Henry Hyde to death!”

Griffin apologized for the photo shoot but then said at a Friday press conference with her attorney that Trump “broke” her. Griffin and the attorney defended the video as “edgy.”

“I’ve had everybody turn on me,” she said.
