Howard says it has reinstated athletes

According to a release, Howard will resume intercollegiate athletic competition immediately. “Student athletes who were declared ineligible to compete by Howard University last Friday have been reinstated. As a result of this decision, all spring sports teams will compete as scheduled for the remainder of the season,” reads the email from Howard spokesperson Kerry-Ann Hamilton.

With the reinstatement, Howard athletics resumes after a week-long hiatus while the school – according to a previous statement — conducted a self-imposed investigation into possible NCAA violations. During this time, athletic director Skip Perkins and president Dr. Sidney Ribeau have been unavailable to comment.
