A District man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for two armed robberies at a Northeast Washington laundromat.
Lawrence White, 41, drew a knife on the same employee within eight days in August, taking several hundreds of dollars in both robberies, prosecutors said.
During the second robbery of the business in the 1600 block of Benning Road NE, a surveillance camera captured White running into the office, and the leaving with the money. The video led directly to the identification of White and his arrest a few days later, prosecutor said.
A D.C. jury convicted White in March of armed robbery and carrying a dangerous weapon.
