Ravens defensive back Corey Ivy is listed as questionable for Sunday?s home game against the Cincinnati Bengals three weeks after suffering what looked like a season-ending kidney injury.
Ivy has practiced for the last two days and seemed optimistic about returning to the team soon, possibly this weekend.

“It?s a little sore right now, but it?s day-to-day and we?ll see when game time comes,” Ivy said.
A standout on special teams, Ivy was seriously injured during a punt in a 13-3 loss to the Denver Broncos on Oct. 9. He re-entered the game after the injury, but the effects of the lacerated kidney were so serious that the team prematurely landed its flight in Pittsburgh. Ivy stayed in Pittsburgh?s Presbyterian Hospital for several days and has made considerable progress in the last two weeks.
“I?m just trying to get back out there on the field and help out,” Ivy said.
Head coach Brian Billick said last week that the team did not want to rush Ivy, but he was impressed with his recovery.
A week later, there?s now discussion that Ivy could return to the team this Sunday. Billick wanted to play it conservative, though.
“The key now for Corey … right now he?s got to get back in shape,” Billick said. “That?s the biggest concern right now before we put him back on the field to see what kind of football shape he?s in.”
Koch kicking impressive numbers around: Rookie punter Sam Koch is on pace to have the second-highest punt average in team history.
Koch is punting the ball an average of 43.8 yards after 43 attempts this season. He has put 13 punts inside the 20-yard line, third most in the AFC and fifth in the NFL.
Billick is impressed with the sixth-round pick from Nebraska.
“I don?t know what the numbers are or where he ranks, but it?s as good as we?ve had, I think,” Billick said. “And to have both [gives me] a great deal of confidence when we?re in that gray area where you?re a little bit outside of [kicker] Matt [Stover]?s range.”
