CHP: Train strikes vehicle near Madera, 1 killed

MADERA, Calif. (AP) — The California Highway Patrol says at least one person died when an Amtrak train collided with a vehicle near Madera on Sunday morning.

CHP Officer Kirk Arnold says the accident happened just before 9:30 a.m. on Avenue 12 near Road 32, southeast of the city.

No other details were immediately available.
