RED HOOK, N.Y. (AP) — Police agencies in Dutchess County are investigating two separate fatal crashes that occurred over the weekend.

In Red Hook, police Sgt. Patrick Hildenbrand tells the Poughkeepsie Journal (http://pojonews.co/1qWk6pT ) that one person died and another was injured in a two-car crash Sunday afternoon. Hildenbrand said an elderly man who was coming from church was killed when his car was hit by another car. The male passenger in his car was seriously injured and taken to a Poughkeepsie hospital.

Names were not released. No one in the other car was seriously injured.

Saturday night, police say 47-year-old Rhonda Galarza of Fishkill died in a one-car crash in Dutchess Junction. Fishkill police say alcohol and speeding may have contributed to the crash.
