Vice President Joe Biden on Tuesday said it’s “possible” Donald Trump could become the next President of the United States.
“Yes, I think it’s possible,” Biden said of a Trump presidency while speaking live from the White House on the “Today” show. “I hope that if that were to occur — I hope it doesn’t because I have fundamentally different views than he does — I’d hope that he gets a lot more serious about the issues, a lot more serious about gaining knowledge about this this nation functions and foreign policy and domestic policy, but look, that’s a long way off.”
Trump currently leads the Republican field nationally and in New Hampshire, but has fallen slightly behind Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, in Iowa
The vice president publicly grappled with the idea of running for the Democratic nomination, but in October he decided not to enter the race due to the passing of his son Beau Biden and his lack of preparation for a major campaign.
