Chairman appoints new D.C. Council counsel

Dave Zvenyach may have moved downstairs at the John A. Wilson Building, but to him it’s a step up.

D.C. Council Chairman Kwame Brown has plucked Zvenyach from Zvenyach’s first-floor office where he worked as Mary Cheh’s chief of staff and appointed him as the council’s general counsel. His new office is on the Wilson Building’s ground floor.

Zvenyach was just settling in when we visited him Monday morning. As general counsel, he’ll advise council members on legal issues. It’s a job that’s more law-focused than the politics Zvenyach handled for Cheh.
