Tonight after Barack Obama’s half hour “Election Special” that he bought on all the networks except ABC it will be the World Series Game 5 on FOX5 and 45. First pitch will come about 8:37pm with the Phillies batting in the bottom of the 6th inning and the game tied at 2-2.
This has the makings of the most exciting finish of any World Series game in history. I mean the game was suspended on Monday night after rain almost washed both teams down river to Delaware. Last night again it was too wet and windy to play. So 48 hours after the game was suspended by Commissioner Bud Selig the Phillies have four at bats to capture the World Series or the Rays have three at bats to keep things moving and force a game 6 in St.Pete at the Trop on Thursday.(Yes there could be extra innings)
Thus far both Joe Buck and Tim McCaver have not been shy about questioning the umps on their strike zones and their ability to make or miss the big calls. Good job done by the FOX team. Let’s the Phillies lose and we head back to Florida for a game six and seven, I mean we don’t want Philadelphia to win do we?
Want to hear what is going on in the battle ground cities?
Tune to sports talk radio WDAE in Tampa and WIP in Philly you will be able to hear the fans of both teams free on the web take shots at the umpires, Selig and just about anything else they want to talk about.
IF you are a Sirius-XM subscriber I suggest Home Plate channel 175 all day and on Sirius 123 and XM 144 Chris “Mad Dog” Russo from 2pm till 7pm will be talking World Series.
Locally it is opening night for the Wizards as they host New Jersey at 7pm at the “Phone Booth.” CSN will have all the action starting with the pregame show at 6:30pm followed by the game at 7pm all in HD.
Radio will be in DC on ESPN 980AM and in Baltimore on FOX Sports Radio 1370AM with Dave Johnson at the mike.
Meanwhile, ESPN will have a double header tonight starting at 8pm with Phoenix at San Antonio followed by the Lakers and the Clippers at 10:30pm.
