A military helicopter made a “precautionary landing” at a Northern Virginia high school Friday evening, according to Joint Base Andrews.
The UH-1N Huey, assigned to the 1st Helicopter Squadron, made the landing at Yorktown High School, Va. at 7:39 p.m. Joint Base Andrews tweeted that the precautionary landing “was in response to a mechanical warning light and the aircraft landed safely.”
“Maintenance crews are en-route and will assess the situation,” the base said, adding that more details will be released as they become available.
