The book is set to include his policy ideas for the future and his reflections on his presidential campaign during the primaries. Though Sanders this week endorsed Hillary Clinton, he had a strong showing and following for months leading up to it.
Other details weren’t disclosed, such as financial ones. It wasn’t immediately clear who initiated the book, how long it’s been planned or if Sanders had even started writing it.
Sanders, 74, has been in the Senate since 2007. Prior to that, he was a Vermont congressman and mayor of Burlington.
He gave a nearly nine-hour filibuster speech in 2010 against the 2010 Tax Relief Act that was published in 2011 as a book titled, “The Speech: A Historic Filibuster on Corporate Greed and the Decline of Our Middle Class.”
