Kathy Griffin to impersonate Kellyanne Conway in Comedy Central special

Comedian Kathy Griffin will play White House counselor Kellyanne Conway in the upcoming Comedy Central special, “Make America Great-a-Thon: A President Show Special.”

“Can’t wait!” Griffin wrote on Twitter Thursday, confirming her casting in the production.

The show will pretend to raise money for initiatives President Trump cannot fund, like his proposed southern border wall and the $130,000 payment made to porn star Stormy Daniels as part of a nondisclosure agreement regarding their alleged affair.

Griffin has been staging a gradual comeback after she was widely condemned in May for posing in a promotional photo with a fake severed head that resembled Trump.

In March, she announced her first round of U.S. shows since the controversy.

“I think it’s important to lean into the controversy, because I know so much more about it now,” Griffin told the New York Times Thursday. “I think now enough time has passed where people are starting see the ridiculousness of what happened to me, and they’re seeing other people that Trump has done it to.”

The Comedy Central special is set to air April 3.
