Celebrate the holidays Old World-style with Wassail at the Walters, the Walters Art Museum’s annual holiday tradition.
Patrons are invited to drink hot cider, listen to live music and take in the art collections while waiting for the Washington Monument lighting and fireworks display in Mount Vernon to start.
Wassail is a hot, spiced punch associated with winter celebrations in Europe, particularly in Germanic countries.
The museum will also give highlight tours of the collections and host participatory art activities. The Friends Middle School Choir will perform in the Sculpture Court. The Washington Monument will be set aglow at 7 p.m. Thursday, followed by a fireworks display.
The Walters Art Museum is located at 600 N. Charles St. in Baltimore. Wassail at the Walters takes place on Thursday from 5 to 8:30 p.m. and is free. For more information, visit www.thewalters.org.
