Donaldson is a D.C. lawyer, television producer and author of the book “Conversate is Not a Word.” Donaldson’s blog, Hot Ghetto Mess, and the subsequent BET television show by the same name, have been criticized for satirizing black culture, but Donaldson insists she is using a comedic touch to inspire people to improve upon themselves. As a result of sponsor protests, her BET show has been renamed “We Got to Do Better.”
