Just as Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) was defending himself against the Sun Sentinel’s Op-ed that stated he should resign, his former mentor and ally former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) slammed him and asked him to resign.
Bush said he was a constituent of the senator and said he was a talented politician who was endorsed by the Sentinel but said he was not doing his job.

“When you signed up for this was a six-year term and you should be showing up for work,” Bush said. “The senate is like a French work week, there’s like three days a week that you have to show up, you can campaign or resign and let someone else take the job. There’s a lot of people in Florida living paycheck to paycheck looking for a senator who will fight for them each and everyday.”
Rubio hit back on his former governor saying he’s only attacking him because of his lagging poll numbers.
