Illegals creating longer wait lines for legal immigrants

Legal immigrants trying to gain citizenship by the rule of law are taking a backseat to illegal immigrants.

According to Fox News, the list of people trying to gain citizenship to the U.S. has grown by more than 100,000 in the last year.  Now, more than 4.4 million people are waiting patiently and legally, some for as long as 15 years, for the chance to call America their home.

Even families of American citizens, who usually get processed faster, are feeling the pain. Under the U.S. immigration system, family reunification takes priority, but the wait time for these individuals has grown from two months to as much as a year and a half.

The reason for the delay is that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has been flooded with more than 2,000 applications every day from the 4 million illegal immigrants that qualify for green cards or work permits under President Obama’s executive action on immigration.

This wave of applications from illegal aliens continues despite the injunction placed on President Obama’s executive order by federal Judge Andrew Hanen.

Adding insult to injury, according to Townhall.com, the fees legal immigrants pay when applying for citizenship are being used to process the applications of illegals who are unable to pay.
