Three people have been indicted on obstruction of justice charges in connection with a federal investigation into the 2008 murder 0f a Drug Enforcement Administration informant.
Arrested were Kelya Clements, 35, her husband, Antoine Clements, 38, both of District Heights, and her mother, Vicki Gordon, of Upper Marlboro. They are accused of committing perjury or suborning perjury before a federal grand jury investigation into the Nov. 1, 2008 murder of Andre Hayes, 32, in Upper Marlboro.
Hayes was shot and killed while his DEA-owned car idled in the driveway.
The three are accused of providing a false alibi for their family member Weldon Gordon, a Metro bus driver at the time of the slaying, who is awaiting trial on murder charges, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said Weldon Gordon’s girlfriend struck up a relationship with Hayes to lure the DEA informant to his death on the night of Halloween 2008.
