The Gaithersburg Police Foundation is holding its first annual art auction at the Hilton in Gaithersburg. The nonprofit group formed in January 2008. It raises cash to provide education opportunities to department staff, technology and it helps finance community outreach initiatives. The foundation will auction paintings and photographs donated by local artists from 2 to 5 p.m. on March 6. Light refreshments will be served.
