Police: 44 Fairfax burglaries are linked

Fairfax County police are investigating a series of 44 burglaries, which authorities believe are connected.

Police said the incidents began on Aug. 24 and someone has committed 24 burglaries, 13 thefts from vehicles and two unlawful entries in Northern Virginia.

The suspect usually enters homes through an unlocked door or window and steals cash and purses, police said. Police said he breaks into unlocked cars or smashes a window and takes items in plain view.

The man is described as 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 150 to 170 pounds.
