Two women have died from injuries they suffered in a house fire that also killed a 6-year-old boy over the weekend.

Prince George’s County Officials said Simone Anne Munroe, 36, and Janet Assing-Macklin, 61, succumbed to burn and smoke inhalation injuries after being pulled from a burning house in the 2400 block of Griffen Street in Lewisdale early Sunday.

Munroe died Monday afternoon and Assing-Macklin died later that night or early Tuesday morning, said fire department spokesman Mark Brady.

Munroe’s son, 6-year-old Omari Noel, died Sunday.

Fire officials said the blaze was caused by an overloaded powerstrip in the living room and ruled it to be accidental.
