NEW YORK (AP) — The NYPD is conducting a citywide traffic safety enforcement initiative over the next three weeks.

It starts Monday and continues through July 6.

Police will be focusing on speeding, driving while using a cellphone, improper turns, disobeying traffic signs and failing to yield to pedestrians.

The latest crackdown is part of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s “Vision Zero” initiative aimed at reducing traffic and pedestrian deaths.
