Pick up this morning’s Washington Post, and the Obama-cheerleading at the very top of page one is so loud you’d hardly even know we’re facing real, modern-day nuclear threats:
The agreement in question cuts the ceiling on long-range nuclear weapons by more than 25 percent. Now the Russians can have fewer than 1,700 such weapons. That’s better than a sharp stick in the eye, but someone forgot to tell the cheerleaders that the Cold War is over, and that Russia is nowhere near being the world’s greatest nuclear threat anymore.
Is this pact a victory? If you believe it is a victory to have the Russians thumb their nose at us over Iran and block our missile shield without any negative consequences, then yes, this is a great victory. President Obama seems to be racking up such victories all over the globe.
