Minor quake rattles Virginia county

MINERAL, Va. (AP) — Louisa County has been rattled by another minor earthquake.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the 2.4-magnitude earthquake occurred around 12:43 a.m. Tuesday. The epicenter was 6 miles southeast of Mineral.

The region has experienced dozens of aftershocks since a 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck on Aug. 23, 2011. Mineral was the earthquake’s epicenter.

No damage has been reported from the latest temblor.
