As many Democrats simmer over President Obama’s reluctance to make a big push to win back the House, a longtime party activist who cheers the power of one-party rule in Washington is joining the fight to restore the control Democrats had when Obama took office and pushed through his health care reform with no Republican support.
James Carville is boosting efforts by House Democrats to win 25 seats and gain control of Congress. And he’s using his trademark ‘ragin cajun’ style to get supporters and donors pumped up to replace Republican Speaker John Boehner with Nancy Pelosi. In a new email, he said:
Paul —
Sure, you can sip a glass of champagne on November 6th if President Obama wins. I probably will too.
But do you really think Boehner, Cantor, and these right-wing Republicans in Congress are going to wake up the day after the election, eat their Wheaties, and start playing nice with President Obama? Me neither.
The last thing President Obama needs is another two years of this Dudley-do-Nothing Tea Party Congress blocking him every step of the way.
Contribute $3 or more to win a Democratic House for President Obama.
You can bet that Boehner’s billionaire buddies will throw the kitchen sink at us to keep the Speaker’s gavel in Republican hands.
My friends at the DCCC are fighting tooth and nail to win the House for Democrats — but they’re going to need your help to do it. If you’re with us, then give what you can today to win a Democratic majority for President Obama:
C’mon now!
