Chelsea Asks for More Foundation Cash

Chelsea Clinton announced yesterday that she and her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, are expecting their second child.

Yesterday, Chelsea Clinton also asked supporters of her family foundation, the Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton Foundation, for money.

“You and I share a common belief – the belief that we can really do something about improving health, defeating poverty, and making gender equality a reality,” Clinton’s email to supporters began. “And together, we are.

We’re helping reduce preventable diseases in the United States, empowering individuals in Haiti to start small artisan businesses that lift their families out of poverty, and mobilizing communities to provide education and opportunity for girls and women, among so much else here in the U.S. and around the world. We have incredibly exciting and impactful work planned for 2016, but we can only accomplish it with your help. You can double your impact when you support our work with a donation today: For only 10 more days, our family is matching all gifts – including yours – to the Foundation, dollar for dollar, up to $200,000. Donate to the Clinton Foundation today – before the end-of-year deadline – and it will be matched, dollar for dollar, to make twice the impact in 2016. I’ve always believed that the strongest argument is the one with the data to back it up – so take a look at these numbers to see what your support for the Foundation has made possible:
  • We expanded our agricultural work to empower more than 85,000 smallholder farmers in Malawi, Rwanda, and Tanzania to forge their own paths out of poverty.
  • Here in the U.S., the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, in its 10th year, has helped 18 million kids in more than 31,000 schools gain access to healthier food and more physical activity options.
  • Along with the release of No Ceilings: The Full Participation Report, we have hosted conversations with more than 50,000 participants on the opportunities and challenges that girls and women experience throughout the world.

We can do even more next year, but it takes individuals like you coming together to show your support for this work. I am truly inspired every time I see the thousands of grassroots donors that come together, because you understand how important this work remains.

No matter what size contribution you make, it all adds up to more lives changed – so donate to the Clinton Foundation today to have your gift matched, dollar for dollar, and help us make double the impact in 2016.
