The early trend

Dallas owned both sides of the line early. Marion Barber rushed for 70 yards in the first half, but finished with 99 for the game. Washington’s Rock Cartwright had 81 of his career-best 140 total yards in the first half. Dallas’ passing game, in the end, won it.

Under the radar

The Redskins hurt themselves with missed opportunities. Linebacker Rocky McIntosh dropped an easy interception at the Dallas 39 in the first quarter. He had room for a long return. London Fletcher also dropped an interception earlier in the quarter.

Did you notice …

How well quarterback Jason Campbell played? Campbell was fantastic on third down, despite playing with numerous backups in the game. Campbell gave Washington a chance to come away with a win, even if he made a bad decision on his tipped interception late in the game.

From the sidelines

The defense did a wonderful job in coverage, except for the last series. Washington’s offense moved the ball despite injuries, but Jim Zorn should have taken one shot at the end zone at the end of the half instead of kicking on third down.

Jason Garrett‘s offense struggled to find a rhythm in the passing game. He finally was able to get the receivers involved in the passing game late in the fourth quarter. But highly unimpressive overall. Wade Phillips‘ defense was good, but allowed a lot of yards.
