More adults say the press has been too soft on Hillary Clinton compared to Donald Trump, according to a new survey by the Pew Research Center.
When asked about press coverage of the individual candidates, 33 percent say the press has been “too easy” on Clinton. That is in contrast to 16 percent who say coverage of her has been “too tough.”

In contrast, 27 percent said coverage of Trump has been “too easy,” 6 points less than Clinton, and 23 percent said coverage has been “too tough.”
Of those surveyed, 37 percent said both candidates are receiving fair coverage.
The results of the survey stand in contradiction to what many critics within the media say. In recent weeks, many reporters and news commentators have said that Trump has received inadequately aggressive news coverage.
Clinton herself has said she believes there is a “frustrating” double standard in news coverage that benefits Trump.
