Skins owner to sue City Paper

Redskins owner Dan Snyder is expected to file a lawsuit against the Washington City Paper, possibly as early as Wednesday, according to a league source.

Snyder was upset with a Nov. 17 article by Dave McKenna, who chronicled the owner’s tenure in an A-Z listing.

“We want the truth,” Redskins director of communications Tony Wyllie said. “We won’t put up with lies. Once it’s filed, everyone will know the truth.”

Among the claims Snyder is said to be upset about:

» He was caught forging names as a telemarketer with Snyder Communications.

» He was thrown off the board off Six Flags.

» The cover photo that included hand-drawn markings making him look like the devil.

The City Paper’s publisher, Amy Austin, told the Washington Post that, “If there was something to correct, we would have corrected it … Dave is a stellar reporter. He provides original and well-reported content for us every week.”
