Conservative super PAC Great America Alliance announced Wednesday it will throw Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore a debate watching party and rally featuring special guests Sarah Palin and Dr. Sebastian Gorka just days ahead of the special election.
The Thursday party will start at 5:30 p.m. CST at the Historic Union Station Train Shed in Montgomery, Ala. The former Alaska governor and former deputy assistant to President Trump are expected to each speak to attendees at 7:30 p.m.The Great America Alliance backed Trump in the 2016 presidential election. Trump has since sided with interim Sen. Luther Strange to permanently replace Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who had held the seat before being tapped for a top administration post.Recently departed White House chief strategist Steve Bannon told the Conservative Action Project in a closed-door meeting in Washington, D.C., earlier this month that he will back the former state Supreme Court justice over the acting senator. Rep. Mo Brooks, R-Ala., who unsuccessfully ran against Moore and Strange for the top two slots, has also endorsed Moore.
In a Sept. 9-10 poll funded by the Senate Leadership Fund, Moore led Strange, 41 percent to 40 percent.
The special election is Sept. 26.
