Louisiana GOP Rep. Clay Higgins posted a video to Facebook from the U.S.-Mexico border encouraging border patrol officers to use “Glocks” on illegal immigrants who throw large rocks at them.
Holding a large rock, Higgins said: “If I’m a border agent and somebody’s throwin’ this at me and I’m in danger of losing my life … I am returning fire with a Glock.”
In the video posted Sunday evening, Higgins laments the “less than lethal” weapons border agents are given to protect themselves.
Higgins was at the southern border on an official trip to learn about the challenges of border patrol officers. The congressman also serves on the House Committee on Homeland Security.
