Fire hits Tyler’s ATL studios

This gives a new meaning to Hotlanta.

A fire ripped through a simulated streetscape at Tyler Perry’s Atlanta studios, sending flames soaring into the night sky, the Associated Press reports.

Flames shot as high as nearby trees, which stand about as tall as a six-story building, a local resident said.

There were no reports of injuries from the fire that burned through the exterior facade of a large building, an Atlanta fire captain said.

More than 100 firefighters, 13 engines and 12 trucks responded to a four-alarm fire at Tyler’s 30-acre complex.

The fire captain told the AP that the flames never reached inside the building because of its concrete masonry construction behind the facade. However, there was some water damage inside.

The complex includes a 200,000-square-foot studio, five soundstages and a 400-seat theater in southwest Atlanta, according to the AP.

Tyler was at the complex at the time of the fire and thanked firefighters for “limiting the damage” and said he was “grateful that there were no injuries.”

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

‘X Factor’ goes Disney

Are Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus Heading to “The X Factor”?

Several reports have surfaced saying Miley and Demi are in final negotiations to join Simon Cowell’s singing competition show.

According to Fox News, separate sources from the Hollywood Reporter and Celebuzz say that each are in talks to be the fourth judge on the show.

If the rumors are true, whoever won the spot would be the last judge to round out the panel after fellow pop star Britney Spears inked a reported $15 million deal.

While these two may seem like surprising choices, a source tells Fox that Simon is hoping to bring in a younger audience with his fourth judge.

Simon and his “X Factor” team are expected to make an official announcement at the Fox upfront event on May 14.
