Carter to make Washington rounds

The media blitz for Jimmy Carter‘s memoir “White House Diary” is coming to Washington.

The former president is making two appearances Wednesday. Carter will sign books at Politics & Prose at 12:30 p.m., and then will then make his way to the George Washington University campus for an evening event with the Smithsonian Associates.

Those who hope to get a glimpse of the Georgia Democrat are better off heading to Politics & Prose, as tickets for the later event are already sold out.

Carter will return to Washington with wife Rosalynn on Oct. 4 to be honored by Habitat for Humanity for the couple’s 27 years of service to the organization. This event, which is a little more glamorous than Carter’s book signings, will feature Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood as co-chairmen of the gala. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan will speak.
