Ahmadinejad Fetes Dieudonne in Tehran

Dieudonne, the alleged “comedian” whose performances have been banned across France on account of his anti-Semitism, may not have won any Oscars this week, but he was given another award recently. In Tehran earlier this month, Iran’s Holocaust-denying former president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, gave Dieudonne a “lifetime achievement” award – also known as a Golden Quenelle Award. (The “quenelle,” for the French word for dumpling, is an inverted Nazi salute, and is a Dieudonne speciality.)

Ahmadinejad was evidently pleased at the meeting – he tweeted about it on Wednesday morning:

Unfortunately, nothing has been reported on Dieudonne’s acceptance speech — we can only wonder whether it was as “offensive” as Patricia Arquette’s at the Academy Awards on Sunday night.
