So a Comedian, a Pro-Wrestler, and an Amublance-Chaser Walk Into a Senate Race…

Last week Jesse Ventura hinted that he might make an independent run for the U.S. Senate in Minnesota, pitting him against Norm Coleman and Al Franken. Now comes the news that Franken, who had won the endorsement of Minnesota Democrats in June at their party convention, might not end up with the Democratic nomination.

Democratic Senate candidate Al Franken will face a primary opponent, an attorney from a well-known family in Minnesota legal circles. Priscilla Lord Faris said she will file paperwork to run in the September primary before Tuesday’s deadline. Lord Faris is the daughter of retired federal judge Miles Lord, who remains active in DFL politics. She is managing partner of a personal injury law firm.

The Hotline reports that Jesse Ventura will announce tonight on “Larry King Live” whether he’ll throw his hat in the ring.
