Prince George’s County police are searching for a man who robbed at gunpoint a Comfort Inn and Suites hotel in Capitol Heights.
The suspect entered the hotel on the 8800 block of Hampton Mall Drive around 1:25 a.m. Wednesday and asked the clerk about getting a room for the night, but he then left without renting one, police said Friday.
A short time later, the man returned. This time he was brandishing a black handgun and demanding money, police said. The clerk gave the robber an undisclosed amount of cash and he fled.
Authorities described the robber as a black male around 27 years old. He’s about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. Anyone with information should call Prince George’s County police at 301-772-4905 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
