RALEIGH, N.C. — Emergency jobless benefits are on the agenda of a North Carolina legislative committee even as lawmakers in Washington debate whether to restore them nationwide and let the state back in to the program.
The General Assembly’s unemployment insurance oversight committee meets Wednesday, the day after the initial U.S. Senate vote to revive the benefits nationwide for an additional three months.
