The illegal immigrant charged in the August 2010 crash that killed a nun is scheduled to go to trial Monday. Carlos A. Martinelly Montano, 24, faces a felony murder charge in the death of Sister Denise Mosier, 66, in a trial before Prince William County Circuit Judge Lon Farris.
Montano, of Bolivia, has two drunken-driving convictions and was in the process of being deported at the time of the crash.

Melissa Sanchez, a defense attorney for Montano, said a plea deal is in the works for other charges he faces in Mosier’s death. Those including involuntary manslaughter and several drunken-driving charges.
The plea will also take place Monday and does not include an agreement about sentencing, his attorneys said. Montana could receive a total of 70 years behind bars.
