In between running the country, the healthcare system and the economy, President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden proved they have enough time to take a quick jog around the White House.
In a new video promoting First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! initiative, which turns four this year, Biden and Obama run around the West Wing to promote the tenets of the program.
The video, released Friday, starts with good ole Uncle Joe bursting into the Oval Office, asking Obama if he’s “ready to move?” The pair then begin exercising — in their shirts, ties and dress shoes, of course — all in the name of squeezing a little physical activity into their busy day.
Sunny and Bo Obama make a cameo as Obama and Biden run to a remix of the “Monday Night Football” theme song.
POTUS and VPOTUS then stop to stretch and head back into the Oval Office to hydrate.
“Otherwise we’re going to get in trouble with Jill and Michelle,” Obama says.
The White House has been actively promoting Let’s Move! throughout the week, with Michelle Obama teaming up with a host of celebrities, including funny men Jimmy Fallon and Will Ferrell, to promote healthy eating and exercise. The First Lady even rapped at a ceremony Tuesday to encourage children to eat nutritional foods.
The First Lady, who spearheads Let’s Move!, encouraged Americans to share their “moves” by posting photos of themselves getting physical across social media platforms.
